Every Thursday at 10:30am, join Señor Bob in our Community Room for a bilingual storytime for speakers of all languages! You’ll sing songs, listen to stories, and ¡se divertirán mucho! This program to promote foreign language skills is targeted for ages 3-5, but all are welcome. Join us in our Community Room for snacks and tabletop games like Survive!, Settlers of Catan, Twister, Jenga, foosball, pool, and more! We’ll also have devices available to play online and browser-based games like Jackbox, Garticphone, skribbl.io, Magic: The Gathering Arena Online, Among Us, Blooket–whatever you can think of!

Free Community Narcan Training

In partnership with the Alliance for Prevention & Wellness of BHCare, Derby Neck Library is proud to offer free, in-person Narcan training for members of the community ages high school and up.

Training will include:

  • Overdose Prevention Strategies
  • Signs and Symptoms of Overdose
  • How to Administer Naloxone
  • Good Samaritan Law
  • Support Information and Resources

What is Narcan™?
Narcan (naloxone) is an opiate antidote. Opioids include heroin and prescription pain pills such as oxycodone, codeine and morphine. Narcan is a prescription medicine that blocks the effects of opioids and reverses and overdose.

Who can be prescribed Narcan™?
Trained individuals are allowed to possess and administer Narcan to a person
having an overdose.
