If you know little to nothing about computers, are afraid or confused about them, or interested but don’t know where to start, this is the place for you.  We cover the basics of Microsoft Word and Excel, email, and how to search the Internet for whatever interests you. There is no fee, you can start any day, but you can only attend once a week. Classes last an hour and are held on Mondays at 6pm and Tuesdays/Wednesdays at 10:30am.

Toddler Science is for children ages 3 and up. Experiments, books, music and crafts encourage you and your child to explore the world around you. Relearn things you forgot as you work with your toddler to learn about such subjects as space, magnetism, chemistry and physics. Classes regularly occur on Tuesday at 11am.

Strike! – Presentation by Pat Sweeney

On Tues., Sept. 6 at 6:30 p.m. we will offer another in a series of power point presentations on Valley history by Pat Sweeney.  The topic is “Strike:  A History or Radical Labor Unrest, 1900-1920 in Ansonia, Derby, and Shelton.”  These two decades were filled with fury and violence, including here in the Valley.  Come learn about the major strikes at Farrel Foundry, Blumenthal Mills, American Brass, and Union Fabric.  The latter company was headed by Frances Osborne Kellogg, and the talk will include details of her business career.  This is a free program.
