Birth to Three Play Group

Wednesday, July 24
10:30 am - 11:30 am

Every Wednesday, caregivers with children ages birth to three are invited to the Derby Neck Library for a play group in collaboration with Connecticut Birth to Three! Come try all the library’s resources alongside Early Interventionists who will work with you and your child to build confidence and competence and enhance child learning and development, all within the typical activities of the family.

No registration is required for this free program, just drop in!

ALSO: We collect diapers! Any size diapers that your child has outgrown can be donated to families in need. Just bring them to the program and we’ll distribute to local food banks!

Makerspace!

Wednesday, July 24
3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Come check out our Makerspace in the Children’s Room! Every Wednesday between 3:00pm and 6:00pm, Miss Sarah will be on hand to assist you with any project you’d like to complete. We have a LEGO wall, a programmable robot, snap circuits, origami, pixel art, ingredients for slime–you name it, we can make it happen!

Please note that the Makerspace is flooded with small parts, so we do not recommend it for very young children. No registration required, but sign up for our Youth Services mailing list to stay in the loop on cancellations by clicking here.

Minecraft Club!

Wednesday, July 24
4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Calling all miners and builders, you are invited to play Minecraft on the library’s server! Sign up to join the server. Chat with other players, work together to build great things, or just play on the Library’s own server. Our server is for Minecraft: Java Edition. Other editions of Minecraft, like Pocket edition or Bedrock, will not work with the library’s server. Please email Miss Sarah to sign up, we have Minecraft accounts and computers at the library, but spots are limited. Here’s how it works:

Email Miss Sarah to add your Minecraft username to the whitelist.
Play nice! No griefing other players. That means you have to have express permission to contribute to or destroy another players build.
Be kind! No swearing or abusive language.

Our server will be open during the two hour period of the club! You can join online from home or by joining in person. We cannot provide accounts for those staying at home. See you in Minecraft!
