World War One in the Valley

Pat Sweeney will present another powerpoint in her historical series on life in the Valley on Tues., Sept. 12 at 6:30 p.m.  The topic, commemorating World War One, will focus on events in the Valley for the war effort and area happenings of the time.  Included will be details about military items made in our local factories, the “War Games” of Derby/Shelton, fashion, Liberty Bond drives, food conservation, the flu epidemic of 1918, the careers of Frances Kellogg and her husband architect Waldo Kellogg, and much more. Join us at this free event to learn more about our local heritage.
