Computer Class

Wednesday, March 21
10:30 am - 11:30 am

If you know little to nothing about computers, are afraid or confused about them, or interested but don’t know where to start, this is the place for you.  We cover the basics of Microsoft Word and Excel, email, and how to search the Internet for whatever interests you. There is no fee, you can start any day, but you can only attend once a week. Classes last an hour and are held on Mondays at 6pm and Tuesdays/Wednesdays at 10:30am.

Read to Spirit and Mandy

Read to Spirit and Mandy

Wednesday, March 21
5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

B.A.R.K! Come to the library and Be A Reading Kid. Both Spirit (a Newfoundland) and Mandy (a Greyhound) will be here to listen to stories and have pictures taken with them. Each child will be given a bookmark with a photo of them and the dog.

Reading to  dogs has been shown to increase not only a child’s interest in reading, but also helps them gain confidence in their ability to read. The Derby Neck Library has sponsored reading dogs for several years and are proud to include these two wonderful dogs in the program.

Little ones who aren’t readers are also invited to come and give them some love!

Registration is not necessary, but  you may call to request a reservation for a specific time.
