Thank you to all the teens and donors who supported our first Play Your Part Read-a-Thon! For youth still looking for volunteer hours, we’ll have more opportunities before the end of the school year and another Read-a-thon in the Fall–stay tuned for more info!
Introducing our new DIY Zone! This special zone in our lobby is for ages 14+ to use for crafting, scrapbooking, and more. For now, we have a Cricut Machine, a sewing machine, a laminator, and a high-quality photo printer, but we’re just getting started! Stop in at our front desk to check out a machine today, and stay tuned for Sunday Crafternoons, coming soon!
We now offer Tonieboxes and Tonie sets for checkout! The Toniebox is a screen-free digital listening experience that plays stories, songs, and more. Designed for little listeners ages 3+ to use independently or for younger children to use with the help of a grown-up, it’s the perfect storytime companion for tiny hands and active imaginations!
A note about Tonieboxes: Because Tonieboxes only work with one home wifi, our Tonieboxes cannot play Tonies that have not been synced on location at the Derby Neck Library. If you want to use tonies from another library or from your own collection, please bring them to the library when you check out a Toniebox. There, a librarian can assist you.
A note about our tonie sets: Our Tonie Setswill work without issue with your family Tonieboxes, as long as they are connected to your home wifi. If you run into issues playing our tonies, please check the tonies website for help: support.tonies.com
